Extended training offerings in Norway

Through our participation in NeIC, the Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration, Sigma2 is pleased to announce opportunities for extended training to Norwegian users of the national e-infrastructure resources.

Recently, NeIC has become a Platinum Partner to The Carpentries, an international successful project facilitating training in coding and data science skills to researchers worldwide.

This opportunity is of great benefit to Norwegians engaged in e-infrastructure, both to users of the national e-infrastructure resources as well as to trainers and instructors.

Through the NeIC Platinum membership, the following opportunities are available:

  • Carpentries workshops
  • Three-day workshops that focus on advanced methods to build modular, reusable, maintainable, sustainable, reproducible, testable, and robust software.
  • Train the trainer program to build partnerships with Research Software Engineers and researchers who are willing to lead skills' transfer within their local communities in the Nordics.
What is The Carpentries?

The Carpentries project is a global community with more than 70 member organisatons in 10 countries. The Carpentries comprises the Software Carpentry, Data Carpentry, and Library Carpentry communities of instructors, trainers, maintainers, helpers, and supporters who all share a mission to increase computational and data science skills to researchers.

There are several ways to get involved in the Carpentries community. Click for more information about all the ways you can engage with the Carpentries and their training offerings.
