Official inauguration of Fram and NIRD in Tromsø

The official inauguration of the new national e-infrastructure with supercomputer Fram and research data storage infrastructure NIRD takes place at UiT, the Arctic University of Norway on 19 May, 2017.

This event will inaugurate Fram and NIRD officially, and will include talks from researchers presenting examples of the types of important research that will be performed using the supercomputer and storage infrastructure.

The systems purchased in 2017 will provide a major boost to Norwegian academia in areas such as fluid dynamics, climate modelling, plasma physics, neuroscience, materials science, molecular simulation, and astrophysics, as well as for industry and innovation.
