NIRD Status February 2023

New NIRD begins Operation.

We proudly announce that the new NIRD storage system begins its operation starting on 22 February 2023.

The Preparation for Operations Working Group has migrated project data for active projects to the new system.

This final step is very critical, and we want you to be aware of what is happening to facilitate and speed up the operations.  

Data has been migrated, but still, we need to do a final sync between the old and the new system before giving access to the new one. During this operation, you will not have access to the respective project either on the old or on the new NIRD.  

Here you can see when each project will have the final sync and switch over to the new system.  Check the list and be informed when you will no longer have access to the old NIRD. NIRD users will be informed also via email.

Access to your $HOME folder will be available on both old and new NIRD. You as users are now responsible for migrating the data to your $HOME folders by yourself when access will be given to you in the new NIRD.

We have updated the new NIRD documentation.  

We invite all users to attend the introductory training for the new NIRD on 15th March. Please find the training page to register for the training.
