Reporting of underusage

The project manager is responsible for ensuring the allocated resources are exclusively used for research purposes, as outlined in the project description (application). Changes in project activities must be reported to the administration as soon as possible, alternatively by submitting an updated application.

Your usage history is important

We assume a steady, continuous usage when we allocate resources. If continuous usage is not expected, the project management must inform the Sigma2 administration about the anticipated usage pattern.
In particular, it will prove difficult to save CPU hours for use towards the end of the allocation period. It is not possible to transfer unused quota to another allocation period.

Throughout the allocation period, the Sigma2 administration may contact the project management and request a new estimate of the computing needs, in case the project's usage is significantly lower than expected. If the project management does not respond within a specified deadline, we will adjust the allocation, based on the project's usage history.

Reduction of allocations

If the project has had under usage it is important to update your application for the next period with an explanation about this. Please use the field "Report under-usage" in the application forms. Projects with unexplained under-usage are subject to a reduction in their allocation for the next period.
